What were the St. Louis Cardinals thinking when they did not sign Albert Pujols to the contract that he wanted. I understand he wanted a lot of money and some may think that is excessive but he is their franchise. They base their whole organization around their first basemen. He is an annual all-star and is the Cardinals offense, bombing home runs out of countless stadiums. Give him the money and keep him as long as he wants to be there. If things end up at the end of the season and they can’t resign him, fans in Missouri are going to be outraged. Their idol is gone and who knows it could start a new “curse of the bambino.”
